Today's editorials

Every morning: what India's main newspapers said in their editorials, summarised in our words, with each paper's leaning and the sides compared.

Short on time? Read every editorial in ten minutes

If you are preparing for UPSC, a state PSC or another exam, you are told to read the editorials every day, but going through six or seven papers takes over an hour. Each morning we read them for you. For every paper you get the issue, its argument and one short quote, with a link to the full editorial. Where papers disagree, we put the sides next to each other. A For students section adds key terms, the background and two practice questions.

Questions

How does this help with exam preparation?

You see the main arguments from several papers on the same issue in one place, which is what answer-writing needs: more than one side, the background and the key terms. The practice questions come from that day's editorials.

Does this replace reading the newspaper?

No. It is a fast way to decide which editorials to read in full. Every summary links to the original editorial, and quotes are kept short.

Which newspapers do you cover?

The Hindu, The Indian Express, The Times of India, Hindustan Times, Deccan Herald, The Tribune, The New Indian Express, Mint and others, depending on what each published that day.

How do you decide a paper's leaning?

A paper's leaning is shown only when our review panel has approved it, with reasons on the outlet's page. Otherwise it says Unknown.
